What will my recovery from plastic surgery be like?In most cases, after a procedure, you will be able to return to light activities within a few days.
After a cosmetic surgery procedure, when can I exercise?Dr. Howrigan recognizes that regular exercise is an important part of many peoples lives. While strenuous exercise, such as jogging, aerobics, and weight lifting should be avoided for 2-3 weeks after a procedure, walking can provide a low impact alternative until you can resume your regular exercise routine.
Is there much scarring? The scars from most procedures are minimal and well hidden. Over time, the scars tend to become less noticeable. Whenever possible, the incisions are concealed in natural skin creases or folds.
How long will the results last?Although the results of most procedures are permanent, time continues to march onward, with its effects of gravity and aging. Thus, after several years, some patients may desire additional surgery to maintain the desired result.
Do men have plastic surgery?Men have concerns about appearance, whether it is a feature that troubles them, such as a prominent nose, recessive chin, or "love handles" that don't respond to exercise, that can be corrected with aesthetic surgery. Signs of aging, such as droopy eyelids, can be eliminated, allowing a more youthful, vital appearance in the competitive workplace. Male breast enlargement, or gynecomastia, which can cause embarrassment, can be corrected.
What are my payment options?Cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance plans. The cost consists of the surgeons fee, facility fee and anesthesia. As is customary, our office requires payment for a surgical procedure two weeks in advance. Payment may be made by cash, check, MasterCard, Visa, or American Express.
